Courtney Havers LLP are independent financial advisers based near Hadlow, on the outskirts of Tonbridge in Kent. They recently relocated from Southborough and used tecwork to install their IT and Telecoms systems. Ian Beardow is the Practice Manager for the company and responsible for the day-to-day running of the office including the IT arrangements. He recently took time out from his busy schedule to answer a few questions about the new systems installed by tecwork, the Telecoms and IT specialists based in Tunbridge Wells and London, who specialise in such a Technology Upgrade and Office Relocation in Kent .
1. Please could you tell us more about Courtney Havers and your role?
Courtney Havers is a family based business offering independent financial planning advice. The company was founded in 1990 and I’ve been with them for 4 years. The majority of our business is generated through referrals from existing clients, accountants and solicitors. My job involves the day-to-day running of the office to ensure it functions as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
2. Why did you need to call in an IT and Telecoms company?
In March 2019 we relocated from our offices in Southborough to larger premises near Hadlow on the outskirts of Tonbridge. This was to give us more room to not only improve the working space for our team, but to also provide a relaxing and pleasant environment for our clients. We therefore had a totally blank canvas and could literally start from scratch and have state-of-the-art, efficient and reliable systems installed.
3. Why did you choose tecwork?
Our Founder and Managing Partner, Ray Tuffield knew Nick Brandon from tecwork and was confident that he and his team would do a really good job.
4. Were you using them in Southborough?
No. We had been using another company, but they had grown quite big and we were experiencing a few issues, as the principle point of contact never seemed to be available. For Courtney Havers, communication is really important and we readily embrace technology and needed efficient telecoms and computers that we could rely on, as well as a support company we could quickly get in touch with.
5. What did the job involve?
tecwork actually did everything relating to IT and Telecoms, making sure that we had a fast Internet connection. They installed all of the computer and phone cabling and migrated all of our phone numbers to a hosted VoIP system. All of the Wi-Fi was set up by tecwork and they moved our current server. At the time of our relocation, GDPR was very relevant and they took care of all of that and cyber security, as well as upgrading our computers to Windows 10.
6. Was it inconvenient or detrimental to your business while the new systems were being installed?
Actually no and no! We didn’t notice it at all! We moved out of the old offices on Friday and into the new ones on Monday and we were literally all set up and ready to go. I would say it was a ‘seamless transition.’
7. Have you been pleased with the works carried out?
Totally. Matt and Adam from tecwork did most of the installation work and it was a thoroughly professional job. They even included some training on the new systems for our staff, which was extremely helpful.
8. What results have you seen?
The main benefits are the reliability of the systems. Courtney Havers likes to keep on top of technology and with the new systems we have the most up to date accompanied by fast broadband speeds. It enables us to communicate better with our clients, which is so important to us.
9. Would you recommend tecwork? If so, why?
I would absolutely recommend them. Everyone in the tecwork crew knows what they are doing and you can always get in touch with them, which is vital to us. I trust them to deal with things and have found them to be fair and honest. Tecwork also provides ongoing support for our computers and phone systems.
10. Are there any new developments at Courtney Havers in the future?
As I mentioned earlier, building relationships with our clients is paramount to us, which I believe is also really important to tecwork. We have just taken on a new member of the team who will provide additional support to enable our advisers to devote more time to look after our clients.
11. Is there anything you would like to add?
Only to say that if anyone is looking to upgrade their IT and Telecoms systems, it would be worth giving tecwork a call. They will come out and assess the situation, give you an honest appraisal and a fair price.
